The Shard Place – AngelEye Installation

The Project

 

Once completed in 2021, Shard Place will mark the third phase of the 2.5 million sq ft development of the Shard Quarter in London Bridge, providing a mixed-use destination of commercial, retail, leisure and residential assets. The new build will comprise of 176 sleek and modern lateral apartments. The residents of Shard Place  will enjoy a private roof garden and outdoor pool on the 27th floor.

SPSC were tasked with delivering a system that would ensure staff mobility without compromising residents’ safety. AngelEye Drowning detection was selected for the project as it enabled remote monitoring and access control to the pool around the clock. Additionally, lighting system was integrated within the Drowning Detection System to preserve pools’ sleek design.

Our Solution

SPSC have provided and installed 4 underwater AngelEye cameras to monitor below the surface of the rooftop pool, in addition to 2 above water video cameras; as per the request of the client remote access capability was enabled, including a palm device and smart watch for responders.

With the prestige and architectural ingenuity of the Shard Place, it was imperative the systems were installed with minimal interference to the aesthetic of the venue – for this reason the solutions provided were non-invasive to preserve the ambience of the pool area, whilst providing an extra layer of protection to swimmers.
